Thursday, November 27
8-9 am “Every Good Thing”
Longtime music host and performer Andrea Blain and classical music fans from all around the country take time to give thanks and celebrate one of life's most meaningful gifts: music. Featured composers include Karl Jenkins, J.S. Bach, Fritz Kreisler, Beethoven, and Mahler, with such works as Jay Ungar’s Thanksgiving Waltz and Aaron Copland’s Simple Gifts.
11 am – Noon “Shadowglow: Thanksgiving with the American Sound”
Celebrate autumn and Thanksgiving with this hour of American music from composers such as Michael Torke, Peter Boyer, and Randall Thompson that evokes starlight, gratitude, and the warmth of the holiday.
1-2 pm “Songs of Thanks”
Through their signature narrative programming, the acclaimed choral octet Cantus will weave together stories and songs celebrating gratitude and community.
Friday, November 28
1-3 pm “Dmitri Shostakovich – an Anniversary Memoir”
Marking 50 years since Dmitri Shostakovich’s death, Peter van de Graaff hosts a two-hour exploration of this hugely consequential composer and his music through the eyes of people who knew and worked with him and from Shostakovich himself.
